Flaps Full is a resource and knowledge hub for pilots of all experience levels. Based in Ontario, Canada, our mission is to remove the confusion from flight training by sharing practical advice, trusted knowledge, and lessons learned throughout training - from your first lesson to passing your flight test and beyond.
The Full Story
Flaps Full Aviation was founded in 2025 with the goal of sharing tips, lessons learned, and practical knowledge with fellow aviators.
Like many pilots, my passion for aviation began at a young age. I first realized I wanted to fly in Grade 7, when my teacher would tell stories about a friend of hers who was a pilot. I’m not exactly sure what clicked at that moment, but from then on, I was hooked. I joined the Air Cadets and used money I saved from cutting grass, along with Christmas and birthday gifts, to book introductory flights at my local flying club.
As life progressed and I entered high school, I slowly drifted away from aviation. Looking back, my age at the time (I was 14 and not yet eligible to earn a licence) and the cost of flying were the main factors. Other interests took over (particularly music, including trumpet and piano) and I started working my first job. While the passion for aviation never disappeared, my career path began to point in a different direction. I went on to attend University and earn a Bachelor of Commerce and eventually started working in "corporate Canada".
In a funny, full-circle moment, my company later opened a satellite office next to my local airport. Any time I heard an aircraft overhead, I’d find myself opening FlightRadar24. One particularly stressful day at work made me realize that the desire to fly was still very much there. A few days later, I was back at that same flying club, signing up for a membership and booking my first training flight.
And from there, the rest is history. I am now a licensed pilot with a deep passion for all things aviation. While I still work in (and genuinely enjoy) my corporate career, aviation is where my true enthusiasm lies. What I value most is the community that surrounds aviation and the shared love of flying that connects us all.
Throughout my training, I had countless questions and, outside of my instructor, struggled to find a reliable source of information tailored specifically to Canadian pilots. That gap is exactly why I founded Flaps Full Aviation: to pass along the knowledge, lessons learned, and insights I gained along the way. If this site helps even one student pass a written or flight test, improve their confidence, or become a safer pilot, then Flaps Full has accomplished its purpose.
